Don’t do it, Rosie, there are people who love you!
The adaptation of Lee Child’s best-selling book One Shot, Tom Cruise has some mighty big literary shoes to fill. This film could have so easily been a mechanical and soulless action film, relying purely on the big name stars and the widely-read source material. In fact, Jack Reacher is beautifully shot, brilliantly acted and far surpasses the traditional man-against-the-world action flick. It never pushes the envelope too far, but Jack Reacher will leave you wanting more.
Tom Cruise plays a strong and fearsome former military man who strikes terror into the hearts of many with his formidable build and -hahahahah – we’re sorry, we can’t do it.
It’s a Wednesday, and the aliens are here! It’s alright though, because they appear to be sea-dwelling aliens and there aren’t any cinemas at sea – your 2-4-1 deal is safe as houses, so crack on and enjoy (relatively) cheap film tickets before the world is incinerated! Hang on, what do you mean you don’t know what to watch?
No, really, there’s actual electric stuff in it. Like a LIGHTNING BOLT
It’s Monday, it’s wet and virtually nobody apart from Michel Hazanavicius and Jean Dujardin have anything to be cheery about. Right? WRONG. This week you should be heading straight to London NW6, where sunshine and rainbows surround the Tricycle Theatre and its superb International Film Season. Thank God It’s Monday!
