Ewan McGregor is in talks to join the cast of Jack the Giant Killer, an updated version of the classic fairytale directed by Bryan ‘Usual Suspects‘ Singer, as leader of an elite guard unit tasked with slaying giants wherever they can be found.

Nicholas Hoult has already beaten Aaron Johnson and Aneurin Barnard to the titular role of Jack, but we’re still waiting to hear who’ll be playing the obligatory princess.

No word yet on whether there will be a golden goose in this adaptation. Keep watching the skies…
