Teaser poster for Oz: The Great and Powerful is released

Although not due for release until the 8th March 2013, Disney have cast their benevolence over us and have released a teaser poster for Sam Rami’s Oz: The Great and Powerful and it looks wonderful.

The film is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz and tells the story of how Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a charlatan circus magician, becomes the great man in the emerald city. Blown away from Kansas (by another pesky tornado it seems), Diggs finds himself in the land of Oz where he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not so convinced that Diggs is actually as magical and powerful as he claims he is. The film also stars Zach Braff, who, like the Lion and Tin-Man before him, will be playing a dual role as Diggs’ assistant and Finley the Winged Monkey.

The poster is sumptuous and evokes an old fashioned, fairy tale-storybook feel which Disney have shied away from for far too long, giving us a glimpse of all of the best images that have become so iconic from the original film, the tornado, the yellow brick road and the emerald city. Yep, our hopes are soaring as high as James Franco’s hot air balloon with this one.

The film also marks a most welcome return for Sam Rami who has not directed anything since Drag Me To Hell in 2009. Rami has been executive producing Spartacus: Blood and Sand for the last few years, so thank god he is coming back to our big screens doing what he does best. Hopefully he will bring a Rami touch to this film and if the brooding, black clouds are anything to go by on the poster then we really are in for a treat.

Hurry up 2013! http://credit-n.ru/debitovaya-karta.html http://credit-n.ru/offers-zaim/ezaem-zaim-online-za-15-minut.html
